Garden Gate Landscaping had its beginning in 2000 when Michael Candillo and his
Grandfather, Lavern Wierman, started a small residential lawn service in the Raymore area called Mike’s Lawn Service. During his high school years, Michael worked along side his grandfather learning the basics of lawn service.

After high school Michael launched out on his own. At this time Michael, also enrolled in the Turf Management and Grounds Maintenance program at Metropolitan Community College. This degreed program included classes such as Landscape Design & Installation, Chemicals & Pesticides, Soils & Fertilizers, Turf Management, and Irrigation Design & Installation as well as other classes pertinent to lawn maintenance and landscaping.  While at MCC Michael, also received a certificate in horticulture.  This was a tremendous learning opportunity for him as he incorporated the mechanics of his college coursework into his everyday work responsibilities.

During this time, Michael expanded his business by including landscape designs and improvements as well as obtaining his chemical and pesticide license. He graduated in 2008 and the business has evolved into a full service lawn and landscape business that offers only the highest quality of services for all your outdoor needs.

In 2009 Michael and his wife Jessica incorporated the company and changed the name to Garden Gate Lawn & Landscape, LLC (DBA Garden Gate Landscaping). They now have 2 children Aydin and Ava.

Michael has a great passion for his chosen line of work and takes great pride in ensuring his customers are always satisfied.
